About Leeds East and North East Liberal Democrats

The city of Leeds is a vibrant, modern, diverse metropolitan city, surrounded by the beauty of the Yorkshire countryside. The two constituencies of Leeds East and North East cover areas as contrasting as rural Alwoodley, and urban Killingbeck and Seacroft. It includes areas built around old country estates such as Roundhay and Temple Newsam that are now widely known for the beauty of their public parks. As such there are many different communities in close proximity, served by local councillors and MPs.

The local Liberal Democrat Party covers these two constituencies and has held council seats in many different wards within them. We are widely known for the strong community ethic that the party and its activists show and we are regularly to be seen locally, around the city and campaigning for all our residents on issues such as the council selling off community assets and large national issues such as Brexit, where we as Liberal Democrats are uniquivocal in our support for all our EU residents and their rights within the country.

If you join the local party you will have the opportunity to very quickly involve yourself as much, or as little, as you choose in enhancing our localities and campaigning for an Open, Tolerant and United Leeds.
